OVERVIEW - A moving and beautifully crafted drama inspired by Maggie O'Farrell's bestselling novel, Hamnet tells the imagined story behind one of literature's most famous names. Set in 16th-century England, the film follows Agnes and William Shakespeare as they build a life together in Stratford-upon-Avon, before tragedy strikes their family. In the aftermath of loss, their grief, love and resilience shape the creation of a work that will echo through history. Richly atmospheric and emotionally powerful, Hamnet is an intimate story of family, sorrow and the enduring power of art.
